About us


Our Country


Italy is a boot-shaped peninsula extending into the central Mediterranean Sea in Southern Europe. It also includes two large islands, Sicily and Sardinia.
Italy borders with Switzerland, France, Austria and Slovenia. There are two independent states within Italy’s borders: San Marino and Vatican City.
Italy is divided into 20 regions.
With 60.8 million inhabitants, it is the fifth most populous country in Europe.

The capital city is Rome and the Vatican City, located in Rome, is the centre of the Catholic Church and the site of Holy See.
Other important cities are Turin, Venice, Milan, Florence, Pisa, Naples, Agrigento.
The official language is Italian.



Our town

We live in Anzio, a nice town by the sea, about 60 km far from Rome.

It is situated in Latium, a region in the centre of Italy.

It is famous because of the Landing of the Allied Troops during the 2nd World War.


 














  


Our schools


"Istituto Comprensivo Anzio I" is a group of 4 schools managed by one Headmistress.


Two of them are situated in the town centre, close to the Townhall and the main square :
Plesso Via Ambrosini - Kindergarten and Primary School

Plesso Ex Falcone - Kindergarten, Primary School and Lower Secondary School

Other two schools are located in the outskirts:

Plesso Quartiere Europa - Kindergarten
Plesso Saragat - Primary School

The total number of the students is 1.205 aged 3-14.

11 classes of Primary School and 4 classes of Lower Secondary School take part in the project. Here they are:








Our Primary Schools are attended by 571 pupils and 85 teachers work there. There are 30 classes. All the pupils wear a school uniform with the school badge: a blue shirt and a blue sweater in winter and a white or blue or yellow t-shirt in spring and summer.

The school year starts on 15th September and finishes on 8th June. We have lessons from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm.


We study Literacy, Maths, English, History, Social Studies, Science, Geography, Art, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education.

We usually have activities in our classrooms and also in our science lab, ICT lab and English lab.
We practice sports in the school gym. In the morning we have a break of 15 minutes at 10.30.
Some classes have lunch in the school canteen and other ones in their classroom. After lunch we have one hour break to play and relax ourselves and then lessons again.
We have holidays at Christmas Time from 22nd December to 6th January and at Easter time for one week, usually in April.
Our Summer holidays are very long. They last from 9th June to 14th September.
